About The Position

We’re looking for a Community Mascot to make appearances throughout West Michigan. Our team is seeking an energetic, engaging performer to become team mascot Crash (or Roxy or Franky!) at select games and community appearances. In this role, you’ll meet fans, take photos, interact with crowds of all ages, and work closely with the Whitecaps marketing and promotions team to bring our brand to life in a big way. All job responsibilities are to be performed in alignment with the philosophy, policies, goals, and budget of Whitecaps Professional Baseball, Inc. You work hard, play nice, and appreciate a good joke. Payment for appearances will be a flat rate of $50, with an additional $25 for every 30 minutes after the initial 30-minute appearance. As a Community Mascot, you’ll be at the center of the action — creating smiles, representing the brand, and becoming a recognizable part of the West Michigan community. Plus, you’ll enjoy free baseball tickets (your friends will love you!) and the chance to be part of unforgettable moments both at the ballpark and out in the community. We’re also pretty great people to work with.

Requirements

Ability to perform act and/or dance.
Must be at least 18 years old and available to work varied hours including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
An extroverted, sociable, and outgoing personality is essential.
You should be comfortable assisting with the set-up, execution, and breakdown of events and promotions.
You must be able to work outdoors in all weather conditions including cold, wind, rain, and heat.
Ability to stand or perform for 60+ minutes at a time, walk up and down stairs in full costume, and maintain high energy and a performance mindset while in costume is required.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel moderate distances throughout West Michigan are necessary.
Ideal height for correct costume fit is between 5’7” and 5’11” for Crash, 5’4” and 5’8” for Roxy, and 5’11” and 6’3” for Franky.

Nice To Haves

A strong knowledge of baseball or sports certainly wouldn’t hurt!

Responsibilities

Serve as a part-time performer for the West Michigan Whitecaps at designated appearances including, but not limited to, community events, hospital visits, baseball clinics, sponsor events, charitable events, parades, and other obligations throughout the year in and around the Grand Rapids community.
Interact with fans in a friendly, professional, and fun manner at the ballpark and at off-site events, acting as a brand ambassador for the Whitecaps and helping build long-term fan loyalty through positive, memorable experiences.
