About The Position

Assists in the supervision and coordination of sewing machine operators' activities in assembling articles. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring that daily production quotas are met. Move people to areas that need help. Sew at machines when vacant. Motivate sewers to meet production goals. Keep materials flowing as required. Stock the line as required. Responsible for ensuring that quality products are produced. Notify the supervisor or Quality Assurance of any defects in the process Repair parts or delegate to repair parts Responsible for reporting production and mechanical problems to the production supervisor. Attend 3 hours per year of development/training requirement. Must have maintained excellent attendance in the previous position Demonstrate the ability to operate sewing machinery and perform the most applicable sewing steps. Assist in maintaining ISO9001 and Quality Management System requirements. Attend production/service meetings as assigned. Utilize a teamwork approach for all projects. Promote vision, values, and services to all workers. Assist in maintaining organization-wide quality standards. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Assist in the training and coaching of all workers as needed. Must be sensitive to cultural diversity and able to work with people from various backgrounds. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities: Serves as an example to employees in the Apparel Department. Carries out leadership responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, encouraging and motivating employees, soliciting input, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Requirements

  • Six to twelve months of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, including proportions, percentages, and volumes.
