About The Position

We are searching for a Apparel Designer I to help elevate UA Sportswear Apparel. The Apparel Designer I, Men's Sportswear role will focus on designing the Sportswear Apparel lines and will have access to the latest technologies and innovations. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with typically 2 years of related experience or Masters degree without experience or typically 6 years of relevant experience without degree.
  • Passion every day to design compelling and cutting-edge product.
  • Ability to understand construction and materials; preferably versed in manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to express concepts and ideas through sketching.
  • Presentation skills and comfortable working with a group.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Solid understanding of garment construction and textiles, including price points and merchandising needs.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly under category design director to design and manage multiple product platforms that answers product and merchandising brief, price point and margin target.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design partners on signature, amp pack and special collections.
  • Develop and execute clear and detailed sketches, technical packages, and bill of materials.
  • Work within an integrated team of design, development, and product line management; act as key point of contact at pod meetings, lab dip approvals and fittings.
  • Make key decisions related to product and procedures.
  • Be the key partner in helping create brand identity and distinctive offerings to the Category with a creative and current design vision.
  • Support Design Team by presenting a collection story to our customers under aggressive timelines.
  • Develop and execute clear and detailed technical sketches for Sourcing / Development to manage.
  • Interact cross functionally with PLM’s, Sourcing, Developers, Graphic team, Print team, trim team, and Materials on seasonal line development, including Fit Sessions.
  • Manage merchandising pages and own color management of the line.
  • Ensure processes are up-to-date and being held to UA standards.
  • Build presentation files.
