About The Position

The position is for a Physician Assistant in the Cardiology department at Advocate Health's University Group Practice in High Point Main. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week. The candidate will be responsible for using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans, collaborating with the medical team, ordering and interpreting laboratory studies, and explaining procedures to patients. There is also an opportunity to participate in research projects and precept students. The role requires upholding the organization's missions and values while performing other related duties as needed.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Current applicable state Medical Board Medical License.
• Certified by NCCPA.

Responsibilities

• Determine appropriate patient care plans using medical decision-making skills.
• Collaborate with the medical team for effective team-based care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures.
• Explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to patients.
• Perform procedural skills as per department or practice guidelines.
• Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
• Precept students and/or medical learners.
• Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
