About The Position

Hospitalist APP opportunity in Lexington, Virginia Full time APP ( NP or PA) opportunity with the Hospitalist group at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital. CRBH is a critical access hospital with 3-5 admissions and discharges a day. Bed capacity is 25. Our practice is comprised of 2.5 FTE physicians and 3 FTE Advanced Care Practitioners. Night shift- 7 on 7 off. Additional nocturnist compensation in addition to base pay. This role includes responsibility for identifying patient health status through histories, physical exams, and diagnostic procedures; managing both chronic and acute health problems; collaborating with general surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, and other surgical subspecialties; providing team-based pre- and post-operative care to adult patients and delivering confident, high-quality care in a rural setting supported by an expanding telemedicine service (including critical care and neurology). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine with hospitalist training, and a broad knowledge base in common general medical conditions. This position offers a collaborative work environment with a strong support team to help you succeed, guiding you through a detailed orientation plan.

Requirements

  • Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Experience: 0
  • Licensure/Certification: Current state Licensed Nurse Practitioner (LNP), DEA license and Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required. AHA BLS-HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification preferred.
  • Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Nursing and Medicine.
  • Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers, good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records.
