About The Position

As an Associate with Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, you will have the opportunity to provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The individual in this role would be responsible for working alongside our physicians in facilitating advanced primary and/or specialty provider services to our patients.

  • Master degree in nursing required
  • Current state nurse practitioner license required
  • 2+ years of applicable experience in the role.
  • 4+ years of total nursing experience required
  • Healthcare Provider BLS through the AHA or ARC before start date.
  • Current State Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate new patient consultation and health history review
  • Perform physical examinations and screenings of patients, order and administer tests including bloodwork, review and interpret test results, diagnoses health problems, detect changes in patient condition, and administer medications as appropriate
  • Ensure patient records are kept up to date including test results, immunizations, condition changes, etc. by entering patient data into the medical record
  • Reviews patient health records and other pertinent information in appropriate databases, updates the patient information at every point of encounter
  • Coordination of pharmacy prescriptions for the physicians and utilizes appropriate databases
  • Implements interventions based upon the physician's medical plan and standards of care including medication and treatments with knowledge of therapeutic intent
  • Utilizes critical thinking to evaluate the appropriateness and effectiveness of care. Recommend further treatment options or future appointment as needed
  • Assists patients and families to integrate the impact of illness and recovery into their lifestyles
  • Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
  • Provide after-care/ongoing care information and resources to patients and their families
  • Provide referrals to other practitioners when necessary
  • Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care
  • Provide care to hospital inpatients as needed under the supervision of the attending physician
  • Deliver quality level care while complying with company policies, safety regulations, and productivity metrics
