About The Position

The position is for a full-time role in the Cardiology department at Advocate Health, specifically at the AMG Oak Lawn S Cicero location. The role involves inpatient rounding at CMC supporting Cardiologists on the rounding service, with weekend coverage required. The candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing treatment plans for patients, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies and prescribing interventions. The position requires maintaining accurate documentation and facilitating coordinated care among healthcare team members. The candidate will also participate in quality and safety initiatives, education of new team members, and maintain productivity and quality metrics.

Requirements

  • Active RN and APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP license in state(s) of practice.
  • Active national board certification in area of clinical practice.
  • Active DEA registration prior to hire.
  • Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if applicable).
  • Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire.
  • Master’s Degree in Nursing.
  • No prior experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Acute Care Certification strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated high level of clinical proficiency.
  • Excellent decision-making skills.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving technology.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, diagnose, and determine treatment and management plans appropriate for patients.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies.
  • Manage conditions based on clinical indications and evidence-based care.
  • Provide health promotion, disease prevention, and management counseling to patients and families.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team and seek consultations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
  • Participate in quality, safety, and peer review initiatives.
  • Educate and onboard new team members and students.
  • Maintain standards of productivity and quality metrics.
