About The Position

The API Commercial Cards Solutions Engineer will play a key role in working with sales, relationship managers, and technical teams, and external partners to facilitate API integrations to support customer requests for provisioning of data to and from other platforms. This role includes a focus on continuing process improvement, process documentation and standardization, training & support to internal team members and channel partners, and planning for product/service enhancements.

Requirements

• BS or BA degree with 3+ years of experience in IT, software project or product management, or IT administration or management
• 3+ years of experience working with APIs and/or other integration solutions with external partners
• 3+ years of experience working with business partners and collaborating on solutions to benefit both companies

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the banking or payment systems or platforms
• Experience with REST APIs, including Open API specifications
• Knowledge of HTTP Protocols
• Knowledge of API support technologies, such as Postman and Jira
• Experience interacting with functional teams in IT, Finance, Operations, Services, Software Development, Product Management

Responsibilities

• Provides overview of API process journey to prospective and current clients
• Guides clients through common API use-cases and presents integration options
• Onboards new client accounts from sales to first API call
• Includes detailed documentation on Business Use Cases, Error Handling, API Call Mapping and Test Case ideation
• Serves as the subject matter expert to communicate technical specifications, answer integration questions, provide testing support and trouble-shoot issues
• Works closely with Business Line Product Owners to understand the short and medium-term API strategy for the business
• Understands current and future API capabilities and relays customer feedback to help shape the API product roadmap
• Interacts with multiple information systems and other analysts to ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms
• Engages and participates in API lifecycle release management
• Works as liaison to support client in functional and regression testing of API integration
• Assists in developing API solution engineer process documentation
• Interacts with product partners and customers to understand preferences and requirements for connectivity to third-party systems and solutions
• Interacts with personnel from external third-party vendors and partners, including definition of joint project scope, and oversight of execution and testing
• Maintains list and description of client and/or third-party connectivity requests and implementations
