The API developer will be responsible for designing, building, testing, and maintaining application programming interfaces. This role involves working with RESTful and SOAP APIs, understanding HTTP methods, data formats such as JSON, and basic authentication concepts. The developer will use low-code platforms, including MuleSoft and Decisions, to support development efforts. They will collaborate with cross-functional teams and departments across Mediacom while consistently applying best practices in documentation, performance, scalability, and modern workflows.

  • Design, code, and modify APIs according to various department requests.
  • Strive to create modular APIs that feature reusability and clear navigation.
  • In-depth understanding of all stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Maintain positive communications and working relationships at all business levels.
  • Build and maintain system, process, and experience layer APIs.
  • Ensure best practices are applied and integrity of data is maintained through security, documentation, and change management.
  • Bachelors or Associates Degree in a related field (ex: Computer Science, Information Technology) preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience preferred.
  • Cursory knowledge of APIs, OpenAPI spec, query writing and optimization, Linux OS
  • Familiarity with Web Services (REST, SOAP), and with source repository management systems
  • Experience with MuleSoft, Postman, Database Experience, and MYSQL
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on listening and questioning skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
  • Ability to conduct research into a wide range of computing issues as required.
  • Keen attention to detail.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
