The API Architect is responsible for identifying and designing the API layer for service registry, management, throttling, and routing. This role involves designing security and authentication features in compliance with company policies, as well as creating a system that incorporates monitoring, alerting, and tracing. The architect will define templates for development teams, conduct regular code reviews, and design an integration layer that supports downstream data flow while working in concert with existing systems. Additionally, the architect will develop services using technologies such as Spring Boot and Node, define a strategy for Test Driven Development, and prepare necessary documentation including training materials and process flows.
