About The Position

The APEX Clinician will provide outpatient services including individual, family and group counseling in a school-based setting in Clarke, Madison, or Oglethorpe counties. This is a year-round position that may also include in person sessions at Remix Clubhouse or utilizing telehealth.

Requirements

  • Clinician 1: Masters degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND eligibility to be licensed in the state of Georgia.
  • Clinician 2: Masters degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND associate licensure in the state of Georgia.
  • Clinician 3: Masters degree in a related area from an accredited college or university AND full clinical licensure in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities

  • Performs Clinical Behavioral Health Assessments of the behavioral health needs of clients presenting for services.
  • Conduct individual, family, or group therapy interventions using a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques as guided by goals set by client/caregivers.
  • Complete and/or update individualized treatment plans with client and caregiver using shared decision making.
  • Responsible for completing authorization requests for insurance
  • Complete timely, thorough, and accurate progress notes that relate directly to the treatment outcomes described in treatment plan.
  • Assemble, analyze, and interpret new/updated assessment information about the client member to assess treatment needs including but not limited to identifying available community resources and completing referrals to respective services.
  • Maintain communication with clients, the client’s identified support, and collateral contacts such as teachers, case workers, probation officers, etc. to discuss client’s progress or no-shows for therapy sessions.
  • Network, collaborate, and partner with school staff, social workers, DFCS, DJJ, and referral agencies to coordinate care and link clients with community-based opportunities for connection and growth.
  • Complete thorough discharge plans for each client.
  • Complete discharge and safety plans for clients released from mental health hospitalization.
  • Create and facilitate training opportunities for staff and community partners (schools, police officers, etc.) in a variety of subjects including youth mental health, family communication, and healthy peer relationships.
  • Participate in clinical team meetings, clinical supervision (if assigned), outside and agency training, as well as possibly educational meetings (IEP, disciplinary, etc.).
  • May provide case management services included linkage/referral to resources as needed.
