About The Position

This position is considered Flexible Rotation: The employee will work on a rotational schedule to ensure onsite coverage of key IT functions. Certain terms and conditions of employment for this position, including the rate of pay, benefits, etc., are currently subject to negotiation with the appropriate union. As the Team Lead, you will provide both technical and people leadership for a team of analysts responsible for supporting and enhancing Epic Claims applications and peripheral systems. This role blends hands-on application expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring high-quality delivery, team development, and cross-functional collaboration. The Team Lead will serve as the primary point of escalation for issues within the assigned applications, oversee enhancement reviews, assist with project scoping, and participate in Epic TS standing meetings. You will guide the team through the complexities of claims workflows, documentation needs, and industry standards, ensuring that software solutions are optimized to meet operational and regulatory requirements. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, the ability to influence without direct authority, and a commitment to supporting the success of both individuals and the broader team. Successful candidates are decisive, collaborative, and skilled at balancing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. The salary range for this position is $133,300 - $219,500 (Annual Rate). Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in health care information technology, computer science, or related area, and/or equivalent combination of experience/training.
• Certification: Resolute Hospital Billing Claims and Remittance Administration, or Resolute Professional Billing Claims and Electronic Remittance Administration
• 5 years of related clinical applications experience
• Broad and/or in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty area(s).
• Knowledge of systems and functions, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
• Strong problem-resolution skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose problems, and develop, test, and implement appropriate and effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
• Detail-oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information and instructions to all levels of clinical applications users in a specific, clear, and concise manner.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
• Ability to work with senior staff and managers, serving as a technical resource and providing advice and counsel on issues of functionality, efficiency, cost-effectiveness, policy, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Managing the day-to-day activities of the Claims Analyst and 3rd Party Applications team, ensuring clear priorities, timely deliverables, and effective coordination across projects.
• Mentoring and developing analysts by sharing knowledge of workflows, processes, and best practices.
• Driving collaboration across teams, building consensus, and leading complex decision-making in alignment with organizational goals.
• Actively identifying risks and barriers, facilitating resolution of conflicts, and ensuring project objectives are met with quality and efficiency.
• Coordinating work across multiple initiatives to maintain an integrated and consistent approach to Epic implementation and support.
