Provides a safe and healthy environment for the City's citizens by ensuring that buildings and land in the municipality are in accordance with the housing and zoning ordinances. Duties include, but are not limited to: inspecting and investigating properties and buildings; determining nature of environmental or health hazards; issuing permits or citations; understanding and complying with state and federal regulations on land usage, zoning, business permits and building access. Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures and written instructions to accomplish assigned tasks.
