About The Position

The APC Operator at NBC and Telemundo San Diego is responsible for providing day-to-day control room production operations and technical support for broadcasts. This role involves coding and executing local news and programming, ensuring the technical quality of productions, and operating various audio, video, and graphic playback systems. The position requires a bilingual individual with experience in video production, particularly in directing and technical operations.

Requirements

• Bilingual (English/Spanish).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in video production or local news, preferably with TD/Directing experience using Ross Overdrive Production Automation or a similar system.
• Experience with production switcher operations, manual and automated video and graphics play out, and audio board operations.
• Strong oral/written communication skills and solid interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and accurately under pressure and deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm under pressure and think critically.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Dalet Galaxy.
• Experience with robotic cameras, video server playback/ingest operations, and audio mixing.
• Strong leadership skills.
• Self-motivated.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day Control Room Production Operations and technical support for broadcasts.
• Code and technically execute local news and other programming using the Ross Overdrive Automated Production Control environment.
• Operate audio, video, and graphic playback operations.
• Provide direction to talent and other production crew members.
• Ensure the ultimate technical quality of newscasts and other productions.
• Perform additional duties as needed or assigned.
