About The Position

ATTIC Correctional Services, Inc., a nonprofit organization established in 1977, provides supervision and treatment services to correctional clients in Wisconsin communities. The organization aims to be a leader in offering alternatives to traditional incarceration. This part-time Apartment Monitor position involves providing community-based services to correctional clients transitioning back to their home communities after release. The role focuses on conducting monitoring checks on supervised apartments and the clients residing in the transitional living program, who are offenders of varying risk/need under the supervision of the Department of Corrections.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Access to his/her own vehicle
• Valid driver’s license, good driving and proof of insurance
• Ability to travel frequently
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity to interactions with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to interact with staff, clients, and other parties in an effective manner while maintaining professional boundaries
• Strong decision making abilities and self- motivated
• Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality of all agency information

Nice To Haves

• 1 year experience and/or education relating to corrections, community based residential facilities (CBRF), criminal justice, human services, psychology, sociology, security, social service, mental health, behavioral health, or law enforcement
• 1 year of experience with correctional clients from diverse backgrounds; culturally competent

Responsibilities

• Receive day to day direction and assignments from the Case Manager
• Report any known or possible client violations and safety/security concerns to the appropriate party in a timely manner
• Monitor client whereabouts and location security during designated periods and shifts
• Complete and maintain activity records and other required information
