The responsibilities of the Apartment Assistant Property Manager / Leasing Consultant include scheduling showings, showing and leasing apartments, pulling credit reports, and answering phones. The individual will also be responsible for scheduling vendors to prepare apartments for new move-ins, processing applications, security deposit returns, and collection accounts. Additionally, the role involves typing various leases and letters, maintaining tenant files, and ensuring all documents are in order. Effective communication and positive interaction with residents, vendors, and the general public are essential, as well as developing and maintaining tenant and vendor relations. The candidate will oversee maintenance requests and reconcile resident issues, requiring a strong understanding of the Fair Housing Act and Landlord Tenant Law. Strong writing skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel are necessary to compose letters, memos, build spreadsheets, input data, and create formulas. The ability to work independently with minimal supervision is also crucial for success in this position.
