About The Position

Iowa City West High School is seeking responsible and detail-oriented individuals to serve as proctors for Advanced Placement (AP) Exams administered in May 2026. This is a temporary, as-needed position with variable hours based on the exam schedule. Required onboarding and training will take place on or before April 27, 2026. The primary AP exam administration dates are May 4–8 and May 11–15, with additional opportunities during the late-testing window of May 18–22, 2026.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated reliability and strong attention to detail
  • Comfortable using computers and secure login systems (including multi-factor authentication)
  • Ability to follow strict procedures and maintain confidentiality
  • May not be currently employed (full- or part-time) by a test preparation company
  • May not engage in tutoring or coaching related to AP or other College Board exam content

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with students or supervising groups is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Commit to assigned testing dates and maintain punctual, reliable attendance
  • Attend and complete a mandatory proctor training session in April
  • Follow all College Board AP exam administration and security protocols
  • Prepare testing rooms, including setup of materials and equipment as needed
  • Admit students, assign seating, and report attendance to the AP Coordinator
  • Read standardized exam instructions clearly and accurately
  • Actively monitor students during testing to ensure a secure environment
  • Distribute, collect, and account for all exam materials
  • Report any suspected testing irregularities or security concerns immediately
  • Organize and return all materials to the AP Coordinator after each session
