Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
• New York City Teaching Certificate (Preferred)
• Non-Certified candidates must hold a minimum of 12 credits in the relevant subject area and be able to provide an official transcript
• 1-2 years of high school teaching experience, ideally specific experience in Advanced Placement (AP) English Language Arts (ELA)

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience within a diverse or urban school setting (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging, rigorous curriculum for 10th and 11th-grade English Language Arts, including Advanced Placement (AP) and NY State Regents preparation.
• Administer, collect, and analyze both formative and summative assessment data (quizzes, projects, state-aligned exams) to assess student progress, provide targeted feedback, and adapt instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment that fosters engagement and academic growth.
• Engage in the school community as a proactive and collaborative member of the educational team, contributing to a positive learning environment.
