POSITION SUMMARY The AOI Operator will primarily be responsible for reviewing AOI inspection for accurate, consistent detection of SMT component placement and solder joint defects.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
1-3 years’ experience operating an AOI machine in a fast paced environment preferred
Experience of inspecting SMT PCBs
Mechanically minded
Excellent computer skills
Quality control and part identification experience
Must exhibit knowledge and/or skill in operating equipment used in the area.
Must be able to read, understand and interpret written and/or verbal instructions and have good communication skills in English.
Ability to deal with changing priorities on a daily basis.

Nice To Haves

Soldering experience toward IPC-A-610 standards is an asset.
Familiarity with IPC-A-610, Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies
Prefer at least 1 year experience in an electronics assembly environment.

Responsibilities

Examine circuit boards to detect defects such as shorts, excess or missing solder, scratches, cracks and placement of components
Perform automated and visual inspection of SMT component as required.
Perform routine machine maintenance and calibration.
Maintain adherence to internal quality standards by approving material at in-process inspection for all products
Verify conformance to specified dimensions
Train personnel on automated inspection equipment as needed
