About The Position

This is a long-term substitute position only until approximately February 27, 2026 and pays $15 hr. The position is 32.5 hours per week (6.5 hours per day with a 1/2 unpaid lunch break). The paraprofessional will support special education students in the regular education inclusion setting. In addition, the paraprofessional will support students in a small group academic support setting.

Requirements

• Ability to lift 30lbs. independently
• Willingness to participate in toileting activities is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare instructional material and learning activities in assigned classroom.
• Provide direct instruction to groups of students or individuals in or out of the classroom.
• Implementation of individualized and small group instruction and discussions.
• Accommodate and modify materials to match students' needs as prescribed by the teacher.
• Assist with the collection of student data.
• Consult with teachers on students' progress and on specific strategies and methodologies to be used.
• Supervise unstructured time such as recess and/or lunch duty unless directed otherwise.
• Assist the teacher in clean-up.
• Assist with any other tasks students are not able to perform for themselves.
• Depending on assignment, provide assistance in escorting children to and from vehicles during drop-off or pick-up.
• Assist students in using technology.
• Assist substitutes in following lesson plans when classroom teacher is absent.
