About The Position

The Training Specialist - Anti-Submarine Warfare Evaluator (ASWE) at GDIT is responsible for developing, organizing, and conducting training programs for Fleet sailors in support of the Surface Combat Systems Training Command. This role involves providing dynamic instruction on Anti-Submarine Warfare tactics and the tactical employment of advanced systems, ensuring that training is effective and aligned with operational requirements. The specialist will also contribute to curriculum development and maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of related experience in a relevant field.
  • 1 year of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Experience as a qualified Anti-Submarine Warfare Evaluator (ASWE) or similar roles is a plus.
  • Must be able to support training with extended periods on feet while instructing.
  • Secret Security Clearance required.
  • US Citizenship required.

  • Experience with U.S. Navy Anti-Submarine and Surface Warfare capabilities and limitations.
  • Experience with curriculum maintenance and writing learning objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, organizes, and conducts training and educational programs for Fleet sailors.
  • Serves as a Senior Instructor to train Anti-Submarine Warfare tactics and the tactical employment of Advanced Capability Build ASW suites.
  • Provides subject matter expertise in support of curriculum development for SCSTC courses.
  • Conducts synthetic training for Navy tacticians in the operation of sonar systems.
  • Provides instruction on sonar principles and environmental analysis.
  • Prepares, reviews, and customizes curriculum lesson plans and instructor guides.
  • Supports Course Reviews and Curriculum Updates; conducts training gap analysis.
  • Documents training conducted and generates formal assessments of success.
  • Develops, tests, maintains, and delivers ASW training programs and related materials.
  • Conducts training sessions and develops criteria for evaluating training effectiveness.
  • Maintains records of training activities and participant progress.
