About The Position

The Customer Funds Management Specialist oversees US regulatory compliance and daily operations related to customer funds. This role ensures regulatory adherence and monitors the operation of US bank accounts across various business lines. The Specialist will interact with departments such as Legal, Compliance, Risk, Merchant Services, Finance, and Tech, and manage daily fund operations by overseeing banking partners, back-office systems, and service providers. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage fund risk under pressure. They will also support cross-training, approach routine operations proactively, and uphold a customer-first mentality.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in global clearing rules such as Fedwire, Wire, ACH, RTP, SEPA, and FPS, ensuring timely resolution of multiple currency funding issues.
  • Monitor system reconciliations for all US accounts to promptly identify and address funding issues.
  • Uphold compliance and integrity standards in fund management.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including client-facing colleagues and partner banks, to resolve complex settlement, collection, payment, chargeback, and refund issues.
  • Take ownership of complex queries, ensuring resolution through effective follow-up with stakeholders.
  • Assist the team leader/manager in addressing and resolving complex funding issues.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance team efficiency and strengthen controls.
  • Continuously expand knowledge of the funds management industry.
  • Embrace change and contribute ideas for improving existing processes and procedures.
  • Draft and maintain process guides and procedure documents to a high standard.
  • Prepare and file regulatory reports—monthly, quarterly, and annually—ensuring timely and accurate information disclosure.
  • Act as the reports owner, establishing data query logic for complex funding flows and monitoring data quality.
  • Assist in regulatory exams conducted by multiple states to ensure that funds management operates with minimal risk.
