About The Position

Industrial Inspection & Analysis is searching for an ANSI Inspector located in Michigan to join our Lifting Services team. The ANSI Inspector will perform inspections on aerial lifts, bucket trucks, cranes and digger derricks. ANSI inspections ensure the heavy equipment is in safe working order by conducting a review of the major components.

Requirements

Mechanically inclined.
Basic knowledge of mechanical processes, movement, and assembly.
Basic knowledge of hand tools.
Proficient computer skills.
Strong communication skills.
Adequate visual acuity and perception to identify and distinguish light, color, depth, distance, and other elements pertaining to spatial resolution.
Must be able to work independently with some direction from management.
Problem solver, detail oriented.
Able to stand, sit, squat, climb, crawl and twist for extended periods of time.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Must be punctual, accountable, and provide high quality customer service.
Must be able to travel for an extended period of time and available to work varying shifts which may include weekends, overnights and holidays.
Must have valid driver’s license and be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

Perform structural tests including
Acoustic emission tests to assess the integrity of the fiberglass and steel structure
Magnetic particle inspections to identify surface cracks on ferrous metals
Torque test all critical fasteners, among others.
Dielectric testing to verify the electrical insulating strength in the FRP upper and lower booms, bucket, liners, FRP extensions on digger derricks, tool circuits, and upper control system.
