ANSEP is looking for a K-8 Program Facilitator. This position is dedicated to supporting student success and driving high-quality STEM programming for middle school students. The Program Facilitator will help lead the day-to-day operations of the Middle School Academy Program, focusing on active student supervision, and curriculum facilitation. The K-8 Program Facilitator will work to create a safe, engaging, and supportive residential learning environment for up to 54 students. The position is essential to realizing ANSEP's mission of preparing students for higher education and careers in science and engineering.

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Middle School Academy Program.
  • Focus on active student supervision and curriculum facilitation.
  • Create a safe, engaging, and supportive residential learning environment for students.
  • Provide consistent student support and maintain clear professional boundaries.
  • Exercise sound, independent judgment in routine and emergent situations.
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM or education field and two (2) years of progressively responsible experience related to school-aged children, OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience instructing or facilitating programs for middle school-aged students.
  • At least one (1) year of management experience in a school or youth development program.
  • Must be at least 21 years old and have a valid AK driver's license with a three-year driving record.
  • Must be able to lift or move 25 to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Teaching certification.
  • Current CPR with AED/First Aid certification.
  • Experience working with diverse student populations or in residential programs/youth camps.
  • Demonstrated content knowledge and experience creating lesson plans in STEM disciplines.
  • Experience working with Indigenous Alaska or rural populations.
