The Annual Giving & Grants Officer plays a vital role in advancing the philanthropic mission of the VNA & Hospice Foundation by managing annual giving programs and securing institutional grant funding. This position is responsible for planning and implementing strategies to increase individual giving, strengthen donor relationships, and prepare compelling grant proposals that align with the needs and priorities of the Visiting Nurse Association of the Treasure Coast (VNATC). Reporting to the Director of Development, the Annual Giving & Grants Officer will serve as both a frontline fundraiser and a skilled writer, ensuring that annual campaigns, digital giving efforts, and grant submissions support the Foundation’s mission of providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare to our community.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in fundraising, including demonstrated success in both annual giving and grant writing.
• Notary Public License in the State of Florida is preferred.
• Proven ability to secure philanthropic support through donor engagement and written proposals.
• Excellent writing, editing, and research skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Knowledge of donor engagement strategies, fundraising best practices, and institutional funding sources.
• Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with donor management databases (Raiser’s Edge or similar) preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to interact effectively with donors, colleagues, and community partners.
• Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of the VNA & Hospice Foundation.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and evaluate strategies for donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Manage all aspects of annual giving programs, including direct mail, digital campaigns, and special giving days (e.g., Giving Tuesday).
• Secure new, renewed, and increased annual gifts through targeted outreach, and events.
• Collaborate with communications staff and vendors to develop donor-centered marketing and solicitation materials.
• Oversee stewardship and recognition efforts for annual donors, ensuring timely acknowledgment and engagement.
• Establish revenue goals in partnership with the Director of Development and track progress toward meeting them.
• Assist in processing gifts to ensure all gifts are receipted in a timely manner.
• Maintain and update donor database as needed.
• Notarize documents or coordinate notarization as needed for the organization.
• Research, identify, and evaluate local, state, and national grant opportunities aligned with VNA programs and services.
• Write, edit, and submit compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and required reports.
• Track and manage grant deadlines, deliverables, and compliance requirements.
• Cultivate and steward relationships with foundations, corporations, and government agencies through outreach, tours, and communications.
• Collaborate with program and finance staff to gather data, outcomes, and budgets for proposals and reporting.
• Maintain grant files, metrics, and reporting tools to ensure transparency and accuracy.
• Provide updates and recommendations to the Foundation’s Grants Committee and board leadership as needed.
