The Annual Fund Manager plays a critical role in executing and managing direct response initiatives to drive donor engagement and revenue across the annual giving program by working with our direct response partner. This position is responsible for the strategic development and day-to-day management of multi-channel campaigns, including micro-campaigns, newsletter distribution, match days, and themed outreach efforts. The Annual Fund Manager plays a critical role in strengthening donor retention, acquisition, and upgrades while collaborating across departments to ensure consistent, donor-centered messaging and optimal fundraising performance. This individual is responsible for stewarding donors giving up to $1,000 dollars.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years of nonprofit direct response fundraising experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of direct response marketing with the ability to increase revenue and use metrics and data to make informed program changes as needed.
  • Strong community-centric writing skills, including appeals, with success in conveying the Food Bank brand.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization and project management skills.
  • Vendor and budget management experience.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred.
  • Must believe in the mission of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the Food Bank’s direct mail and email fundraising programs, including vendor oversight, budgeting, scheduling, copy approval, and reporting.
  • Evaluate campaign efficacy and implement strategic testing to improve upgrades, retention, and acquisition.
  • Edit and proof creative materials to ensure accuracy, clarity, and donor-centered messaging.
  • Generate high-level in-house mailing selections and suppression files as appropriate.
  • Develop and implement targeted micro-campaigns to drive donor participation during key moments.
  • Plan and promote match days and giving challenges to maximize donor engagement and revenue outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Communications and Digital Manager to align digital fundraising strategy, messaging, and campaign execution.
  • Produce annual reports as needed analyzing progress toward revenue and participation goals, performance by solicitation channel, donor renewal, upgrade, and attrition rates, and campaign effectiveness.
  • Ensure donor record integrity and accurate data management to support effective fundraising operations.
  • Ensure online giving platforms follow best practices and conduct ongoing testing and optimization of donation pages.
  • Execute stewardship efforts within the Annual Fund among donors to ensure timely, meaningful, and donor-centered engagement.
  • Manage timely responses to multichannel donor outreach.
  • Support newsletter distribution and themed outreach efforts.
  • Ensure messaging reflects impact, gratitude, and organizational priorities.
