As part of the County Animal Shelter team, you’ll play a hands-on role in ensuring animals are safe, comfortable, and properly cared for during their stay. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys active, meaningful work and is passionate about animal welfare.

Requirements

Be at least 16 years old and a high school graduate; OR have completed the State requirements for a G.E.D. certification.
Pass the complete examination including the employment medical established for the classification.
Successfully complete the six month probationary period.

Responsibilities

Provide daily care for animals, including feeding, watering, and monitoring overall well-being
Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and shelter areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment
Move and place animals in appropriate holding or detaining areas as needed
Assist veterinary staff with basic support tasks when required
Maintain and clean shelter equipment to ensure proper functionality
