Under the general direction of the Animal Services Supervisor, the Animal Services Officer provides respectful, courteous, and friendly customer service to all residents, business owners, and property owners while enforcing Town ordinances and ensuring compliance of regulations pertaining to the animal control ordinance. The candidate displays composure, a helpful attitude, integrity, and professionalism in all circumstances, including stressful and other adverse conditions. Primary duties include Animal Services duties including but not limited to: assisting in the animal shelter, assisting in the receiving, redeeming and adoption of animals at the shelter, also includes investigation of animal complaints and animal bites, patrols Town and impounds stray or injured animals, and removal of dead animals from the roadway. Activities include responding to complaints, writing reports, conducting investigations, research, providing staff support, providing education and awareness to the public, maintaining records, public presentations, general office duties, and other duties as assigned, all in conformance with State and Town law.
