About The Position

The position involves assisting the public with animal impounds, redemptions, adoptions, and licensing. The role also includes coordinating immunization, sterilization, and other medical services provided at the shelter. Additionally, the individual will compile and review data for reports and required actions by licensed pet owners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • One to three months related experience and/or training
  • Able to obtain a Euthanasia Certificate within 6 months of being hired
  • Have a Utah driver's license or the ability to obtain one
  • Must be able to effectively communicate in the English language both verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist prospective owners in selection of animals for adoption
  • Maintain list of requested animal types and prospective pet owners
  • Collect fines and fees
  • Review license database to identify owners of lost pets
  • Compile daily animal intake record
  • Type correspondence, maintain database and filing system, answer phones and deal with the public
  • Prepare daily revenue report for deposit
