About The Position
The Animal Protection Officer (Animal Control Officer) at McKamey Animal Center plays a crucial role in enforcing animal welfare laws and ordinances within the community. You will also be tasked with maintaining records and preparing reports related to animal control activities, as well as managing equipment and supplies necessary for your duties. The position requires a commitment to humane practices, including the humane euthanasia of animals when necessary, and the management of animals held for protective custody. Officers must also be prepared to handle nuisance wildlife calls and provide education to the public about responsible pet ownership and animal welfare standards.
