About The Position

Animal Facility Assistant in Greenfield Indiana Are you passionate about maintaining a safe and efficient work environment? From coordinating equipment moves and performing quality control checks to training staff and managing lab orders, your contributions will be vital to our success. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 1 year of related experience.
  • Ability to accurately read, record, and communicate information.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to tolerate laboratory animals.
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills (e.g., Word, Excel).

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer but not required 1+ years of experience working with animals in research laboratory
  • Welding and or construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing paperwork and scheduling.
  • Technical skills for operating and maintaining lab equipment.
  • Attention to detail for quality control and recognizing deviations.
  • Knowledge of GLP standards for maintaining records.
  • Problem-solving skills for making recommendations and adjustments.
  • Communication skills for training and instructing staff.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workload efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Animal supplement/ enrichment support.
  • Supply ordering, scheduling, ordering, inventory, and or preparation.
  • Coordinate equipment moves to and from off-site storage and other Labcorp sites.
  • Make necessary adjustments or modifications to lab equipment and make design recommendations for new equipment as needed.
  • Operate equipment and perform quality control checks to ensure it is in safe working order.
  • Schedule and complete workload independently.
  • Help to maintain the facility as needed.
  • Maintain safe work environment.
  • Recognize deviations from normal or expected outcomes based on known reference standards and make recommendations to management.
  • Maintain well documented laboratory records according to GLP’s.
  • May work with the appropriate logistics/accounting personnel for placing lab orders (pan papers, fruit, feed, bedding, etc.) and reconcile any discrepancies or quality issues independently.
  • Train/ instruct staff on process (floor scrubbing equipment, etc)
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
