About The Position
The Animal Control Officer works with citizens throughout the City of Bryan to promote compliance with and enforce animal control laws and ordinances. This position involves responding to calls and complaints, patrolling public streets, detaining and impounding stray or unlicensed animals, and transporting animals to the Bryan Animal Center. The officer will enforce animal control laws, explain ordinances, issue warnings, and appear in court as necessary. Responsibilities also include investigating reports of animal nuisances and abuse, educating the public about animal care, and assisting with the care and maintenance of the Bryan Animal Center. The role requires maintaining records and reports, and performing related duties as required.
