About The Position
On a routine basis, or as assigned, enforces state and local laws and ordinances to protect the safety and rights of the public and the welfare of animals. Tasks and responsibilities include responding to reports of vicious animals, animal cruelty, animal pick-up and confinement, responding to property damage complaints, inspection of containment facilities, preparing reports, representing the County at public hearings, testifying in court, and performing euthanasia. The bulk of the work is performed in the field driving a department vehicle and responding to reported violations or area of need. This position is a project position focusing on facilities inspections, dangerous dogs licensing inspections, and wildlife licensing inspections. This is not currently a general ACO position, if the position if approved to be come permanent, it will convert to a general ACO position as stated in the job description posted. This is a limited duration project position with an end date of 9.30.2026. This is a Local 11 union position.
