About The Position

The Animal Caretaker Manager In Training at Prestage is responsible for assisting in managing the operation of swine farrowing and breeding facilities. Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Animal Science or related field preferred
Prior experience in animal care or farming operations is a plus
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to adapt to changing environments and procedures
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks and lift up to 50 lbs
Must be willing to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
Ability to walk, stoop, bend, climb, perform repetitive motions, see and distinguish colors, hear, and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

Assists in the management and training of Animal Caretakers, ensuring adherence to animal care and farm management protocols.
Monitors the health and welfare of animals, implements best practices for feeding, sanitation, and housing.
Develops and maintains accurate records for animal care, production, and employee performance.
Participates in safety and compliance training and ensures all practices meet company and regulatory standards.
Identifies areas for improvement and works with management to enhance animal husbandry techniques and operational efficiencies.
Promotes teamwork and a positive work environment among farm staff.
Performs other duties as determined by management as part of the training process.
