About The Position

The Animal Caregiver is a part-time, onsite role responsible for overseeing animal care shifts at One Tail At A Time facilities. This position involves directing volunteers, ensuring animals receive proper meals, medications, exercise, and maintaining facility cleanliness. The role is crucial for providing a nurturing environment for animals and supporting the mission of quality veterinary care.

Requirements

• Experience with animal restraint techniques for safe handling of animals.
• Familiarity with veterinary clinic operations and procedures is helpful.
• Excellent communication and record-keeping skills.
• Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety within the facility.

Responsibilities

• Run animal care shifts across all OTAT facilities.
• Direct and engage with volunteers during shifts.
• Ensure animals receive meals, medications, and exercise/enrichment.
• Clean enclosures and kennels according to guidelines.
• Document and communicate all medical and behavioral concerns in accordance with OTAT policy.
• Complete all cleaning tasks according to facility checklist.
• Ensure facility supplies are stocked and ready for the next shift.
• Notify facility manager or Shelter Director of any maintenance issues.
