As the only open-intake animal shelter in Buncombe County, we're always here for the animals in our community. Position Summary: The Animal Care position is responsible for the direct care of the animals housed at the Buncombe County Animal Shelter and Asheville Humane Society Adoption Center. Duties include, but are not limited to, cleaning animal areas, feeding, watering, medicating, enriching, and walking. This position also works closely with AHS Volunteers. Schedule: The Animal Care position is a full-time (40 hours per week) position located on the Animal Care Campus. The schedule for this position is Saturday - Wednesday (Thursday/Friday off), with shifts between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm or 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. Compensation & Benefits: The compensation for Animal Care starts at $15.45/hour.
