About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Minimum 6 months of animal care experience (beyond personal pet ownership).
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical labor.
• Strong teamwork, multitasking, and communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to become certified in animal handling, euthanasia, and vaccinations (training provided).
• A calm, compassionate approach in a fast-paced and sometimes emotional environment.

Responsibilities

• Feed animals and maintain clean, safe, and comfortable kennels.
• Handle animals with care, ensuring their safety and yours.
• Monitor animal behavior and health, reporting any concerns promptly.
• Administer vaccinations, medications, and treatments (training provided).
• Assist with animal handling, transport, and day-to-day shelter operations.
• Provide professional, compassionate communication with staff, volunteers, and visitors.
• Perform humane euthanasia as necessary (training and certification provided).
