As an Animal Care Technician, you’ll provide basic care and sanitation for research animals, common duties include but not limited to: Assist with the feeding of all species within the animal facilities. Assist with the changing of all soiled animal cage units. Sanitation of all equipment used in the process of cleaning. Assist with the operation of the cage washer and tunnel washer Dumping of all animal pans to remove waste and bedding GRP/ and Good Documentation training required. Must document sanitation practices. Bedding of animal pens and stalls Observation of animals, reporting health issues. Daily observation of animal health status with documentation. Assist with record keeping. Assist with animal and supply inventories. Assist with laundry details for work area.

Requirements

  • Education not required.
  • No experience required.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Overtime and weekend work as required.
  • Must be able to speak, write, read English.

Nice To Haves

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Animal Care Experience: 6 mo. to 1 year of demonstrated proficiency in handling animals preferred.
  • Additional Related Experiences: 6 mo. to 1 years of any other relevant animal experiences or certifications related to the position.
  • Work History: Demonstrated ability to maintain a structured and dependable work record, with 6 months to 1 year of consistent professional experience preferred.
