About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months prior experience in animal care.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups.
• Maturity, good judgment, and a professional appearance.
• Ability to restrain animals when necessary for medical procedures.
• Strong problem-solving skills and flexibility to manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and common medical concerns.
• Comfort in working with animals of unknown disposition.

Responsibilities

• Communicate information clearly in stressful situations.

• Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, dishes, equipment, and laundry daily.

• Bathe and groom animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of animals, medications, and payments.
• Report equipment shortages or problems to the Animal Shelter Supervisor.
• Utilize personal protective equipment and animal handling equipment.
