Animal Care Specialist - Starting Pay $21.53 - $23.75 Per Hour Doe
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Fire Marshal, the Animal Care Specialist enforces Eddy County Ordinances and New Mexico State Statutes addressing animal control, care and abuse. Employee will be responsible for educating the public of requirements for animal care and compliance with applicable ordinances and state statutes. Investigates complaints of animal abuse or neglect within Eddy County and takes the appropriate actions required, issuing warnings and/or citations to violators, impounding stray or injured animals as the situation dictates. This job requires considerable contact with the public, explaining County Ordinances and State Laws addressing Animal Control issues. Employee may be required to work irregular hours under all kinds of weather conditions, attend job-related training and meetings, and perform all other duties as assigned.
