The Float Animal Care Specialist role will support our mission by ensuring the safe exhibition, handling, feeding, and husbandry of primarily the Zoo's hoofstock and pachyderm collection, however, there could be times where this role works with any species housed at the Zoo. The hoofstock division includes a diverse range of species, including giraffe, lesser kudu, Somali wild ass, eastern bongo, and others. The pachyderm division includes black rhino, greater one-horned rhino, Malaysian tapir, hippo, red river hogs, and bighorn sheep. This role requires excellence in husbandry skills, communication, active participation in training and enrichment, and involvement in public demonstrations.
