About The Position

The Animal Care Services Supervisor will be responsible for Field and Kennel Operations in the Animal Care division. Also responsible for training of Control Officers, Kennel staff and Live Release staff.

Requirements

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of (4) four years of experience
  • Advanced Animal Control Officer required within 18 months of hire
  • Animal Control Officer, Admin certification required within 18 months of hire
  • Animal Control Officer, Basic certification required within 12 months of hire
  • Animal Control Instruction required within 18 months of hire
  • Euthanasia Technician certification required within 12 months of hire
  • A valid driver's license is required. Successful out of state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire

Responsibilities

  • Lead field operations and kennel operations by assigning work plans and schedules, observing work in progress and inspection of work upon completion.
  • Assist department manager by enforcing City Ordinances and local, state, and federal laws governing animal care services.
  • Participate in review of field operations, kennel operations, adoptions, recues and foster programs.
  • Responsible for monitoring current levels of food, cleaning chemicals, equipment, fatal plus, vaccinations ,microchips and other supplies.
  • Responsible for the training of Control Officers and kennel staff.
  • Promote and model outstanding customer service for all internal and external customers.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge and skills by keeping required license/certifications current.
  • Gather and maintain open records requests.
  • May be asked to perform other duties as assigned.
