Pima Animal Care Center’s (PACC) mobile medical unit is looking to hire an experienced technician to work our free, public veterinary care program called “Karen’s Karing Van” (KKV). The program extends veterinary medical care to Pima County residents who are unsheltered or housing insecure; residents living in areas lacking access to vet care, and/or overwhelmed caretakers. The KKV program offers free spay/neuter and wellness services but also has the capacity to run advanced diagnostics and pharmaceutical support. Successful applicants are community-minded professionals motivated to improve pet welfare and reduce relinquishment to local shelters. When not working offsite events you will work in the shelter clinic. Scheduled hours will vary based on events as well as department needs. This is a full time position with its focus support of community surgery and wellness outreach. Scheduled events are generally held on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. In a typical month there will be 2-3 weekend events, the scheduling of which will vary throughout the year. The balance of the workweek is spent in the PACC clinic doing follow up work from the prior event and prepping for upcoming events.
