Animal Care and Enrichment Specialist

Alaska SPCAAnchorage, AK

About The Position

As an Animal Care & Enrichment Specialist, you will play a vital role in the wellbeing of the dogs and cats in our care. You will support both physical and emotional wellness by combining compassionate husbandry, enrichment activities, and behavior-aware handling. This is a hands-on position requiring strong understanding of canine body language, stress signals, and enrichment techniques to reduce anxiety and promote adoptable behaviors. The ideal candidate is patient, observant, and committed to positive reinforcement–based handling. We provide training in safe handling and restraint, vaccination, Fear Free Shelters, and safe husbandry techniques. Growth opportunities and support for individuals interested in pursuing animal behavior certification. This position is eligible for a $500 signing bonus.
