About The Position

Playful Pups Retreat in Elizabethtown, PA is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and compassionate Doggie Daycare – Animal Care Attendant to supervise and care for the dogs in our facility. In this role, you spend your day actively supervising dogs in our play yards, ensuring safe, engaging, and positive group interactions. You lead enrichment activities, guide group play, and help reinforce basic training and leadership skills in a calm, confident manner. Patience and consistency are key. You provide structure, guidance, and affection to help each dog feel safe, comfortable, and confident. After a full day of play, some pups need a bath, and you help ensure they go home clean, relaxed, and happy. You also play an important role in maintaining a clean, healthy environment by cleaning and sanitizing play areas and facility spaces. You work closely with a supportive team, staying alert, communicative, and focused on safety at all times. Your work directly impacts the well-being of the dogs and the peace of mind of their families.

Requirements

Comfortable working hands-on with dogs of all breeds and sizes
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Willing to clean and handle all aspects of pet care (being okay with dirt, fur, and odors is a must!)
Dependable, patient, and attentive to detail
Positive, team-oriented, and eager to learn
Team members must be able to stand for extended periods, work outdoors in varying weather conditions, sit, bend, twist, and lift or carry up to 50 pounds
Clear vision, hearing, and communication skills are required
Safely handling dogs of all sizes - including dogs that may pull or jump - is an essential part of this position
Follow established policies and procedures at all times

Experience in the pet care industry is a plus
