We are hiring a Full-Time Overnight Animal Care Attendant in Golden, CO to support our hospitalized patients and help maintain the safe, clean, organized environment that allows our medical team to deliver exceptional care. You ensure hospitalized pets remain safe, comfortable, and closely monitored while preparing the hospital for the next day’s medical team. Hands-On Animal Care Experience - From walking dogs and monitoring patients to assisting technicians, you will stay active and engaged throughout your shift. This is an active, overnight animal care position in a veterinary hospital setting. Cleaning and sanitation are a major and essential part of this role. You will help reset and prepare the hospital for the next day while ensuring hospitalized pets receive attentive overnight monitoring.

Requirements

  • Have a genuine love for animals and a calm, patient personality.
  • Understand that cleaning and sanitation are critical to excellent veterinary care.
  • Have strong attention to detail and take pride in maintaining organized spaces.
  • Can follow instructions carefully and consistently.
  • Are comfortable around cats, dogs, and occasionally birds or reptiles.
  • Work well independently during overnight hours.
  • Are dependable and take responsibility seriously.

Responsibilities

  • Thorough cleaning of kennels, treatment areas, exam rooms, and common spaces.
  • Disinfecting surfaces according to AAHA and hospital standards.
  • Proper disposal of medical and hazardous waste.
  • Restocking bedding, supplies, and cleaning materials.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized veterinary hospital environment.
  • Provide fresh food, water, and clean bedding.
  • Walk and comfort dogs as needed.
  • Monitor hospitalized patients overnight and promptly report changes.
  • Assist with medication administration as directed.
  • Monitor vital signs once trained.
  • Troubleshoot IVC pumps and basic monitoring equipment with training.
  • Bathe patients when needed.
  • Assist credentialed technicians with safe animal restraint.
  • Support catheter placement and patient handling when appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly with the medical team regarding patient status.
  • Work independently overnight with strong accountability and attention to detail.
