There are still lots of open positions. Let's find the one that's right for you.

The Cook Museum is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our Animal Care team. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and has a strong commitment to providing high-quality care for the animals in our museum. The successful candidate will be actively pursuing a degree in Biology or Zoology, which aligns with our mission of educating the public about wildlife and conservation. The role requires flexibility in scheduling, with the expectation of working up to 30 hours per week, including weekends and some holidays. Shifts typically begin as early as 7 AM, so a willingness to start early is essential. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining a high standard of care for all animals under our supervision. This includes preparing animal diets, assisting with daily feeding routines, and ensuring that animal habitats are clean and healthy. You will also participate in educational programs, such as animal talks and camps, where you will engage with guests and answer their questions in a manner that reflects the museum's mission. Attention to detail is crucial, as you will be required to keep detailed records and follow specific care instructions to ensure the well-being of the animals. As part of a small team, you will often work independently, which requires a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to handle various small animals, including those that may bite, strike, or sting. If you are passionate about animal care and education, and you meet the qualifications, we encourage you to apply and share your relevant work experience with us.
