About The Position

The Cornell University Hospital for Animals is seeking an Animal Attendant to assist in the care of patients at the Equine Nemo Farm Animal Hospital (ENFAH). In this role, you’ll help maintain and disinfect hospital spaces, assist with daily animal care, and work alongside veterinary technicians, clinicians, and students in a collaborative setting. You’ll also gain hands-on experience supporting the care and safe handling of a wide variety of large animals while contributing to a team dedicated to exceptional veterinary medicine. Requirements

• High school diploma and at least six months experience, including direct working experience with large animals or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of or have the capacity to learn basic infection control practices.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, which includes, but are not limited to, stressful situations, prolonged standing, and kneeling, assisting with patients which may exceed 50 pounds.
• Use sound judgment to prioritize tasks, coordinate with the care team, and maintain smooth workflow in a clinical setting.
• Employees working in the hospital must receive the pre-exposure rabies prophylaxis vaccination series prior to or immediately after hire, which will be paid for by the department.
