Oneida Health was founded in 1899 as a 4 bed hospital in the city of Oneida. Today, we are an award winning, technology leading provider of healthcare services. Our mission is to provide the highest quality of care close to home. Oneida Health is a community hospital in process of rebuilding it's anesthesia team. This is a great opportunity to be part of a new team that cares for a local community. There are 8,000 cases annually consisting of Endo, General, Ortho ENT, L&D and other specialties. Case Assignments Main OR cases include general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, urology, endo and OB. OB experience is required. Team Highlights Care team model
Requirements
- M.D./D.O. Degree from an accredited College of Medicine
- ECFMG and FLEX
- Completion of approved residency in anesthesia
- Currently licensed as a physician
Responsibilities
- Assist in the directing and coordinating of activities in the Anesthesia Department
- Responsible for the medical management of patients who are rendered unconscious and/or insensible to pain and emotional stress during surgery and other medical procedures
- Pre-anesthesia assessment
- Obtains and/or verifies patient consent
- Discuss anesthetic options and risks with the patient
- Induction, maintenance, and emergence from anesthesia
- Monitoring of the patient's physiological condition
- Performance of clinical intervention as needed
