Practice Environment: 355-bed regional medical center (CommonSpirit Hospital System) The Anesthesiology department is diverse, consisting of 12 physicians, over 30 independent-practice CRNAs, and 24 resident physicians providing services for up to 16 anesthetizing locations daily. The annual anesthesia case volume is approximately. 14,300 cases, consisting of ~ 9,000 surgical cases, 800 cardiac cases, and 2,000 out-of-OR cases in GI, EP lab/Cath Lab, and interventional radiology. The center provides a range of surgical services, including ENT, general surgery, and GI surgery. The Anesthesia Residency program started in July 2021. Residency subspecialty training currently available at St. Joseph’s includes cardiac, obstetrics, critical care, acute and chronic pain and pediatrics.
